Crews Captures Two Diving Events at EMU Invitational

Leading the way for the Wolverines was junior Amanda Crews (Champaign, Ill./Champaign Central HS) who turned in first-place finishes in both the three-meter and platform diving. Crews scored an NCAA zone diving qualifying mark on the three-meter board with a score of 443.30. Teammate Hanna Shin (Inverness, Ill./Fremd HS) finished in second in both diving events, including an NCAA zone diving qualifying mark of 436.15 in the three-meter dive.
Also showing strong performances were sophomore Kathleen Gilbert (River Forest, Ill./Oak Park-River Forest HS) and freshman Heather DeHainaut (Vineland, N.J./Vineland HS). Gilbert placed first in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:08.58 and finished second in both the 200- and 500-yard freestyles. DeHainaut was first in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:06.28) and second in the 100-yard freestyle.
The Wolverines' next meet is vs. the University of Indianapolis on Dec. 30 in Tampa, Fla.
