Gold Earns Big Ten Player of the Week Award

Gold had three tackles for loss and two of those were quarterback sacks. He recovered a fumble on Penn State's opening drive that set up a Wolverine field goal and he forced a fumble on the final Nittany Lion play that clinched the win with less than a minute to play.
Gold leads the Wolverines with a career-best total of 74 tackles (54 solo, 20 assists) this season. He ranks second in tackles for loss (10 for 33 yards), has four sacks, two pass break-ups and three forced fumbles. For his career, Gold has 182 tackles (133 solo, 49 assists) and 21 tackles for loss.
The Wolverines (8-2, 5-2 Big Ten), ranked 10th in both the Associated Press and ESPN/USA Today polls, host Ohio State (6-5, 3-4 Big Ten) on Saturday (Nov. 20, noon EST) on ABC Television.
