Thomas tied the Wolverine single-game record for rushing attempts with 42 at Indiana, equaling tying Ron Johnson's mark set vs. Northwestern in 1967, and with his 197 rushing yards, Thomas bettered his previous single-game rushing mark of 183 yards set at Hawaii last season.
Thomas, who wears jersey number 32, has scored 32 rushing touchdowns in 32 games as a Wolverine and moved into third place on the U-M career rushing TD list. Thomas moved from 18th to 14th on the Wolverine career rushing list as he has 505 rushing attempts for 2,289 yards.
Thomas leads Michigan in rushing for the season with 201 attempts for 847 yards and 12 touchdowns. He is averaging 105.9 yards per game and he leads the team in scoring with 72 points.
Epstein had a career day in the win at Indiana as he handled all the placekicking, kickoff and punting duties for the first time in his career. He scored 10 points in the win and hit the game-winning 20-yard field goal with 18 seconds left in the game to snap a 31-31 tie.
Three of Epstein's seven kickoffs were touchbacks and three of his returnable kicks were covered inside the 20. He punted six times for 212 yards, had a career-best 50-yarder and dropped two of his punts inside Indiana's 20.
The Wolverines (6-2, 3-2 Big Ten) are ranked 15th in the USA Today/ESPN poll and 16th by the Associated Press and host Northwestern (3-5, 1-4 Big Ten) this Saturday (Nov. 6). The 12:10 p.m. game will be televised by ESPN Regional.
