Heading the Maize and Blue list are U.S. National Team veterans and U-M assistant coaches Tracy Fuchs and Peggy Storrar. Fuchs, who is perhaps the top player in the nation and a member of the National Team since 1987 (captain since 1990), is a two-time Olympian (1988 and 1996) and recordholder for most international matches played (165). Storrar, a member of the 1998 U.S. World Cup team and alternate on the 1996 U.S. Olympic Team is also expected to make the team.
Also in attendance will be four members of the 1998 Big Ten runner-up squad and one former Wolverine. Co-captains Amy Philbrook (Marblehead, Mass./Marblehead HS) and Loveita Wilkinson (New Castle, Del./William Penn HS) along with teammates Ashley Reichenbach (Palmyra, Pa./Palmyra HS) and Kelli Gannon (Escondido, Calif./San Pasqual HS) are each looking for their first spots on the squad. Amy Helber (Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer HS) is the lone U-M alumna making the trip.
Michigan head coach Marcia Pankratz will be a member of the selection committee as well as a coach.
