Field Hockey Defeats No. 18 Ohio State 3-1

Michigan took control of the game in the first half as Jessie Veith (Oak Park, Ill./Oak Park-River Forest HS) netted her seventh goal of the season and Courtney Reid (South Deerfield, Mass./ Northfield Mount Hermon HS) scored her second of the year. Ohio State got on the board on Deanna Menichini's goal with 7:37 remaining in the first half, but the Wolverines shut down the Buckeyes for the remainder of the afternoon.
Jocelyn LaFace (Rossland, B.C./Rossland Secondary School) capped the scoring for Michigan with her first goal of the season and third of her career with 22:54 remaining in the contest.
Michigan dominated the game off the scoreboard as well. The Maize and Blue outshot OSU 20-6 and Michigan goalie Kati Oakes (Lititz, Pa./Warwick HS) was forced to make just two saves in the entire game. The Wolverines also earned 11 penalty corners to Ohio State's three.
