Wally Grant

Wally Grant was one of the finest hockey players to ever lace up the skates at Michigan. Grant was captain of the Wolverines as a senior in 1950 and earned All-America honors for three seasons. He also played on U-M's first national championship team in 1948. In his four years at Michigan, Grant scored 63 goals and 83 assists for 146 career points. Michigan coach Vic Heyliger called him, "the best two-way hockey player I have ever seen.” Grant stayed involved with the university through active membership in many U-M Clubs, including the ‘M’ Club, the President’s Club and the Dekers. Grant was inducted into the USA Hockey Hall of Fame in 1994.
