Ken Hayward was a member of Michigan's 1983 and 1984 College World Series teams, while earning All-Big Ten honors three times. He was Michigan's recipient of the Big Ten Medal of Honor in 1985, while also serving as team captain and winning the Bill Freehan Award as the team's top hitter. Hayward holds the program record for games played in a career (234), while also topping the list in career batting average (.376) and RBI (207). He still ranks second in walks (119) and on-base percentage (.466), while ranking in the top 10 in 13 different batting categories. He was a three-time All-Big Ten Tournament team honoree (1983, '84, '85), helping the Wolverines capture the 1983 and 1984 Big Ten Tournament titles.
