Don Dufek Jr. was born with maize and blue blood and entered the U-M upon graduation from Ann Arbor Pioneer High School. A rare two-sport athlete, Dufek earned three varsity letters in football and four in hockey. Dufek played defensive back for the Wolverines from 1973-1975 and was a critical member of U-M’s Big Ten championship squads in 1973 and 1974. In 1975, Dufek was named co-captain and earned All-America honors. Over his career, he compiled 249 tackles, nine fumble recoveries and four interceptions. When the football season was done, he hit the ice as a left winger for the Michigan hockey team. Even with a shortened season, he averaged 10 goals each year. After a successful career in the NFL, Dufek served Michigan as a board member and president of the Letterwinners M Club. Photo Gallery
