Barry Larkin

Barry Larkin was a member of Michigan’s baseball team from 1983-1985, leading the Wolverines to the 1983 and 1984 College World Series. A .361 hitter at Michigan, Larkin was a two-time All-American and Big Ten Conference Player of the Year. After his junior season in 1985, Larkin was drafted fourth overall by the Cincinnati Reds. He played shortstop for the Reds from 1986 to 2004 and was one of the pivotal players on the 1990 Reds World Series championship club. A 12-time Major League Baseball All-Star at shortstop, Larkin earned Gold Glove awards in 1994, 1995 and 1996 and was the National League MVP in 1995. He hit .311 for the United States 1984 silver medal Olympic team in Los Angeles. In 2012, Larkin was enshrined into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame.
