Alecia Humphrey was a three-time NCAA champion in 1995, winning the 100- and 200-yard backstroke events and swimming as a member of the victorious 400-yard medley relay team. She was a 12-time NCAA All-American and a seven-time NCAA All-America honorable mention. Humphrey was named Big Ten Swimmer of the Year twice (1993 and 1994) and won the conference championship in the 100-yard and 200-yard backstroke every year at Michigan. A standout student, she was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection and a recipient of the prestigious NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship. After receiving her undergraduate degree at Michigan, Humphrey earned a master's degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a JD from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 2003.
