Trevor Arico
- Title:
- Graduate Assistant
Trevor Arico joined the University of Michigan men's basketball program as a graduate assistant in the summer of 2026. A native of Saline, Michigan, Arico joined a Wolverine program coming off a historic 2025-26 campaign that culminated in Michigan's first NCAA National Championship since 1989.
Arico has been immersed in basketball throughout his life as the son of Michigan women's basketball head coach Kim Barnes Arico. Through years spent around college practices, locker rooms and games, he developed an early understanding of the game and the inner workings of successful programs. Combined with his own playing career, that background provides valuable perspective in his role with the Wolverines.
As a graduate assistant, Arico works closely with Michigan's coaching staff in a variety of areas, including opponent scouting, film analysis, player development, practice preparation and game-day operations. He assists with scouting reports, video breakdowns and daily basketball operations while helping support the championship culture established under head coach Dusty May.
Prior to joining Michigan's staff, Arico completed a four-year playing career at Emerson College, where he established himself as one of the top guards in the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC). Appearing in 102 career games, he scored 977 points and averaged more than 14 points per game during each of his final two seasons.
After seeing action primarily off the bench during his first two seasons, Arico moved into the starting lineup and became one of the Lions' top offensive contributors. He averaged 14.4 points per game as a junior and 15.1 points as a graduate student while providing veteran leadership and developing into one of the conference's top guards. During his collegiate career, he combined scoring ability, perimeter shooting and playmaking while totaling 314 field goals, 118 three-pointers, 219 rebounds, 140 assists and 50 steals.
Prior to his collegiate career, Arico starred at Saline High School, where he helped lead the Hornets and established himself as one of the top players in southeastern Michigan.
