Maegan Neihart is in the first season of her second term with the University of Michigan Rowing program in 2025-26, following a two-year run as a graduate assistant from fall, 2022 to spring, 2024. Neihart is an Assistant Coach and also serves as the program's Recruiting Coordinator. She was part of the staff that helped guide the team to a Big Ten Championship in 2023, working with novice boats that captured gold and silver medals to help the team score.

Neihart returned to the Wolverines' staff after working as an assistant coach with Stanford over the past two seasons (2024-2025). Her time in Palo Alto included the Cardinal's 2025 National Championship campaign, during which she worked closely with its undefeated 1V4. Stanford won two conference championships (PAC-12, 2024; ACC, 2025) while Neihart was on staff.

It was her second stint as part of the Stanford staff, as she was an assistant coach for the 2021-22 season. A native of Bethany, Oklahoma, Neihart was a standout athlete at OU (2014-17), where she was also a four-time all-academic honoree and Academic All-Big 12 second team (2015) while earning her degree in multidisciplinary studies and pre-physical therapy. Neihart earned her master's in movement science from U-M's School of Kinesiology during her time as a graduate assistant.

Neihart began her career as a walk-on and was named Freshman of the Year following her rookie year in 2014. She collected three All-Big 12 honors and three silver medals with the 1V8 during her career, adding Big 12 Rower of the Year accolades in 2016. Neihart was a second-team CRCA All-Region pick for the Sooners in 2017. She rowed in the Sooners' 1V4 during the program's second-ever appearance at the NCAA Championships.

Following her collegiate career, Neihart spent time in Redwood City, California, as a CrossFit coach. In 2019, she relocated to the U.S. National Team Satellite Training Center in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., coaching with the Saratoga Rowing Association while competing with ARION under Eric Catalano.
