Luke Kasubke joined the University of Michigan men's basketball program as a graduate assistant in the summer of 2025 after completing his Division I career with stops at Kansas State, Illinois State and North Dakota State.
Drawing from his experience across three programs and multiple conferences, Kasubke brings a unique player perspective to Dusty May's staff and plays an important role in the day-to-day operation of Michigan basketball.
In his first season in Ann Arbor, Kasubke helped Michigan author one of the greatest campaigns in program history. The Wolverines posted a school-record 37-3 record, captured the Players Era Championship, won the outright Big Ten regular-season title with a program-best 19-1 conference mark and advanced through the Midwest Regional en route to claiming the program's first NCAA National Championship since 1989.
As a graduate assistant, Kasubke works closely with Michigan's coaching staff in a variety of areas, including opponent scouting, film analysis, player development, practice preparation, analytics and game-day operations. He assists with scouting reports, video breakdown, recruiting preparation and daily basketball operations while helping support the program's championship culture.
Before arriving at Michigan, Kasubke concluded his collegiate career at North Dakota State, where he helped the Bison post a 21-11 record during the 2024-25 season. Appearing in all 32 games, he averaged 4.0 points per game while shooting nearly 38 percent from three-point range. His season was highlighted by a career-best 21-point performance against Samford, connecting on seven three-pointers.
Prior to North Dakota State, Kasubke spent two seasons at Illinois State, appearing in 63 games and making 18 starts. During the 2022-23 season, he averaged 6.8 points per game, connected on 39 three-pointers and ranked among the team's top perimeter shooters.
Kasubke began his collegiate career at Kansas State, where he played in 46 games over two seasons in the Big 12 Conference. He earned Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team honors and gained valuable experience competing against some of the nation's premier programs.
Over his collegiate career, Kasubke appeared in 141 games, earning a reputation as a dependable perimeter player known for his shooting ability, toughness and basketball IQ.
A native of St. Louis, Missouri, Kasubke starred at Chaminade College Preparatory School, where he was a two-time Missouri Class 5A All-State selection. He scored 1,466 career points, helping lead the Red Devils to three state Final Four appearances while establishing himself as one of the most accomplished players in program history.
