NCAA RULES EVERY MICHIGAN FAN SHOULD KNOW
Under NCAA rules, suite owners are considered “Representatives of the University of Michigan Athletics” also known as “boosters.” Your suite purchase is associated with special benefits of tickets, parking passes and other potential benefits such as special events or suite access outside of the football season.
If it is discovered that a Representative of Michigan Athletics has engaged in conduct determined to be a violation of NCAA rules, the University may withhold from the Donor any benefits or privileges provided for in their agreement.
Here are basic NCAA rules you should know. By following these rules you help us uphold the Michigan tradition of integrity, academic excellence and athletic success. Please call the Compliance Office before you take any action that could affect the department or our student-athletes’ eligibility. Thank you for your loyalty and support and for joining us in our firm adherence to all NCAA rules.
- ALWAYS ASK BEFORE YOU ACT! Breaking NCAA rules can render prospects and student-athletes ineligible for competition at the University of Michigan. The NCAA holds the University of Michigan accountable for the actions of its fans and friends. Providing gifts to a student-athlete, a recruit, or their family/friends could be considered an NCAA violation, so please ask before you act! Examples of benefits include: cash, gifts, meals, transportation, clothing, discounts not available to general public, etc.
- You MAY NOT make recruiting contacts with prospects, their relatives or legal guardians. A prospective student-athlete is a student who has started classes for the ninth grade (7th grade for men’s basketball, volleyball and softball) or above. This prohibition includes written and telephone communications.
- You MAY NOT contact a prospect’s coach, principal, or counselor in an attempt to evaluate the prospect.
- You MAY send newspaper articles and other information about talented prospects to the Michigan coaching staff. Also, you MAY continue established relationships with friends and neighbors whose children are prospects or current student-athletes, provided the relationship pre-dates reaching prospect status and is not based on their status as an athlete.
- You MAY attend high school or junior college competitions provided no contact occurs with the prospect or the prospect’s relatives.
- You MAY NOT entertain any coach from a junior or senior high school, preparatory school, or junior college or provide them with tickets or any other type of benefit.
- You MAY compensate a student-athlete for the use of their Name, Image and/or Likeness, provided the student-athlete is providing you a product or service in exchange for that compensation, the compensation is not based on a specific athletic accomplishment, and it is not provided as an inducement to get a student-athlete to enroll at a particular school.
- Student-athletes MAY NOT sell game tickets, jerseys, apparel, equipment or awards given to them by Michigan. As such, please refrain from asking to buy these items from our student-athletes.
- Athletic department staff and student-athletes MAY NOT wager on sports sponsored by the NCAA or share information (e.g., injury updates, who is likely to play) with those who do, so please do not make those requests of our student-athletes.

-
Changes in national and regional security levels may affect security procedures at Michigan Stadium. All persons and items are subject to search. An updated list of prohibited items is listed on mgoblue.com/safety. Bringing prohibited items into Michigan Stadium including premium seating areas can result in the loss of privileges and forfeiture of payments. Guests entering the suite towers with medical or childcare needs (e.g., medical prescriptions, diapers for a baby, etc.) will have their items inspected and tagged. One bag will be permitted for the guest with medical/childcare needs and it must be an appropriate size for the items needed.
If you have any specific questions on permitted items, please contact the Athletic Guest Services Office at guestservices@umich.edu.

Michigan Stadium suite holders may be entitled to game day parking in either reserved parking areas or general admission parking areas.
Tailgating is permitted in various parking lots. All tailgating equipment must be placed behind the parked car in the designated spot and not encroach on another parking spot or impede roads, driveways or traffic movement. Where indicated by dashed lines, tailgating cannot take place in emergency safety lanes. Parking lot personnel will determine whether or not a tailgate setup impedes traffic.

Digital suite tickets may be scanned at any entrance and a secondary scan will occur when you reach the suite level. Suite ticket numbers do not necessarily correspond to seat locations — guest seating is at the discretion of suite owners. Each attendee must have a digital ticket to access and remain in the suite and premium seating areas. Suite holders may purchase up to four (4) SRO's per game.
To maintain the security and exclusivity of premium areas, anyone who wishes to leave and re-enter the East Tower or West Tower must receive a transit hand stamp from an event team member at the elevator or exit. A transit stamp must be shown to re-enter the suite towers. East side suite owners have access to both levels of the Jack Roth Stadium Club.
Along with the designated suite administrator, Michigan Athletic Development manages all suite tickets, guest seat assignments, parking, door and cabinet keys, standing room only tickets (SRO's), and email and phone contacts.
-
Mobile tickets make your ticketing experience even more simple, safe, and secure. Fans receive tickets in a tap-to-enter or digital QR code format to display on their mobile phone. Physical tickets and print-at-home tickets will not be issued. Tickets purchased through the Michigan Athletic Ticket Office will be made available in the Michigan Athletics mobile app or through a Michigan Athletics Account at mgoblue.com/myaccount. iPhone users will need to download tickets to their Apple Wallet and Android users will download tickets to their Google Wallet. It is extremely important to download your tickets in advance of the game as there is limited cellular coverage in the vicinity of Michigan Athletic events. Once your tickets have been downloaded, you do not need cellular service to access them or have them scanned.
Do not print out your digital ticket as printed digital tickets will not be accepted at the gate. On gameday, you may go straight to the gate and present your ticket from your phone's wallet. For tickets with a QR code, scan the QR code displayed. If you are using a tap-to-enter ticket, simply hold the back of your phone near the scanner. If you have questions about your mobile tickets, please email MTickets@umich.edu and a customer service representative will get back to you. If you have additional mobile ticket questions, please visit mgoblue.com/mobiletickets.

The maintenance staff is responsible for cleaning suites after each game, assessing the condition, and recording changes or damages within the suites. A damage report is sent to the Michigan Athletic Development as needed. Suite owners will be contacted if their suite is missing furnishings or has sustained damage. Suite owners agree to maintain suites in good condition and are responsible for costs for restoration, repair or replacement of any Stadium Suite items or property damage beyond expected wear.
