State Street Closure Set for Championship Parade Saturday, April 11, 2026
State Street will close starting at 8 a.m. on Saturday, April 11, for a parade celebrating the University of Michigan men's basketball 2026 National Championship team. The road is expected to reopen around 11 a.m. During the parade, fans can access the Canham Natatorium and Wilpon Complex parking lots via the Hoover Avenue entrance.Only fans attending water polo or softball will be able to park in lot SC-20; that lot will not be open for parade attendees.
Parking Note for Sunday, April 12, 2026
Michigan Athletics will host the Big House 5K on Sunday, April 12, beginning at 8 a.m. The race starts on State Street near Ocker Field/Schembechler Hall and finishes on the 50-yard line inside Michigan Stadium.
As a result, State Street and Hoover Avenue will be closed until runners have cleared the course and the race concludes. Guests are encouraged to use street parking in the surrounding neighborhood or park in the Crisler Center lot if street parking is unavailable.

Event parking is available free of charge in the Blue Lot surrounding Crisler Center (lots SC4, SC5, SC6, SC7). The Crisler Center lot has entrances on Stadium Boulevard and East Keech Avenue (off South Main Street) / Greene Street (off East Hoover Street). Please leave your bags in your vehicle as Crisler Center has a no bag policy.

When there is a basketball doubleheader (men and women play back-to-back), men's basketball parking procedures will be in effect (see link below). However, limited parking will be available for women's basketball fans in SC7 (lower Blue Lot). Shuttles will be provided for guests with mobility issues. Once the lot is full, women's basketball fans will be directed to park at Pioneer High School or other cash lots.
Please note that University parking permits are not valid for athletic events.

Parking is available for patrons with a disability outside the Northeast entrance of Crisler Center on a first-come, first-served basis. It can be accessed from Greene Street and Stadium Boulevard. You must have a state-issued disability parking placard in order to gain access to this parking area.
When there is a basketball doubleheader (men and women play back-to-back), Stadium Convenience Parking will be available at women's basketball (free of cost, but must have state-issued placard to enter). However, if they are staying for the men's basketball game they must pay $10.

The University of Michigan will not be responsible for loss of or damage to vehicles parked for a Crisler Center event or their contents. Holder of parking permits should hang this tag on their rear-view mirror with the display clearly showing. Permits should be displayed at all times (even when entering the game) to avoid being towed.
All drivers should be alert to instructions from the uniformed police officers and parking personnel who will be directing traffic. Patrons are reminded that normal parking regulations apply on game day. Vehicles parked in fire lanes, at the end of aisles, and in any other illegal location will be ticketed and/or towed. If you are unable to find a legal parking space, please see a parking attendant for assistance. Spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Spaces may not be reserved for later arriving vehicles unless authorized by the U-M Athletic Department.
