
Postgame Notes: #17 Iowa 20, #18 Michigan 19

• Today's game marked the 333rd consecutive crowd of 100,000-plus fans at Michigan Stadium. Attendance was 111,126.
• U-M's all-time record against Iowa moved to 45-16-4, including 25-7-3 in Ann Arbor.
• The Michigan offense outgained Iowa 429-285, including a 147-36 advantage in total yards in the first quarter.
• U-M sustained offensive drives of seven, nine, eight, 10, eight and 11 plays, including a nine-play, 89-yard drive that resulted in U-M's first touchdown.
• The U-M offense entered the game with five explosive (20-plus-yard) plays through three games. U-M recorded four explosive passing plays in the first half against Iowa, covering 27, 20, 22 and 32 yards, and added two more in the second half, covering 22 and 49 yards.
• Michigan's first score came on an 18-yard touchdown reception by JJ Buchanan, his third touchdown of the season. The nine-play, 89-yard scoring drive featured two 20-plus-yard receptions by Andrew Marsh and marked U-M's second-longest scoring drive by distance this season (91 yards vs. Oklahoma).
• Buchanan added his fourth touchdown of the season in the fourth quarter on a 49-yard reception to put U-M ahead 19-14. The play marked his longest reception as a Wolverine.
• Buchanan set a career high with 130 receiving yards.
• Two Michigan receivers surpassed 100 receiving yards: Buchanan (130) and Marsh (106). It marked Marsh's second consecutive 100-yard receiving game (105 vs. UTEP).
• Bryce Underwood recorded a career-high 276 passing yards, completing 17-of-28 passes and adding 36 rushing yards. He completed 11-of-16 passes for 162 yards in the first half, his most productive passing half of the season.
• A week after recording his first career carry, Eli Owens made his first career reception for five yards.
• Iowa finished with 58 rushing yards, its fewest in a game since recording 49 against Nebraska in 2024.
• Iowa's 30 rushing yards in the first half were its fewest in a first half since being limited to 26 against Oregon (Nov. 8, 2025).
• Jyaire Hill matched his career highs in tackles (seven) and solo tackles (five).
• Trey Butkowski connected on a 41-yard field goal to give Michigan a 10-7 lead early in the second quarter. It marked his third field goal of 40-plus yards this season.
• Avery Gach made his first career start at the rhino position. He became the seventh Wolverine to make his first career start this season.
