PITTSBURGH, Pa. -- Three players from the University of Michigan football program were selected on the second day of the 2026 NFL Draft held on the North Shore near Acrisure Stadium. Defensive end Derrick Moore (44th pick, Detroit Lions) and tight end Marlin Klein (59th pick, Houston Texans) were drafted in the second round and linebacker/edge Jaishawn Barham was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the third round (92nd pick).
The Lions moved up six spots by trading with the New York Jets to draft Moore midway through the second round. He became the 34th Wolverine drafted by the Lions. Moore is the first Michigan player selected by Detroit since the organization chose Aidan Hutchinson with the second overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Moore finished his Michigan career among the best at sacking the quarterback. A four-year letterman, he registered 21 career sacks to place eighth in school history, while his sack yardage total (182 yards) lists seventh. Moore appeared in 53 career games and made 24 starts on the edge, compiling 95 career tackles, 24.5 tackles for loss, 21.0 sacks, one forced fumble, three fumble recoveries and eight breakups.
Moore was voted the 2025 Bo Schembechler Most Valuable Player by his teammates and was selected by the coaches as U-M's Defensive Player of the Year. Moore started 12 games at edge in 2025, registering 30 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, 10.0 sacks, three pass breakups, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. His 10 sacks rank tied for 10th all-time at Michigan for a single season. A 2025 All-Big Ten first-team selection, Moore led the Big Ten in sacks during conference play. He finished third overall in the Big Ten and 10th nationally in sacks (0.83 avg.; 10.0 total).
Klein was the first offensive player chosen for the Wolverines, earning selection by the Texans with the 59th overall pick. The second-round selection joins All-Pro receiver and former Wolverine Nico Collins with the Texans.
A native of Cologne, Germany, Klein played all four seasons in Ann Arbor, appearing in 36 games with 12 starts at tight end. He saw action at tight end in 34 contests, collecting 38 career receptions for 364 yards and one touchdown. Klein played in 11 games during the 2025 season, starting six contests, and led the tight end corps with 24 catches for 248 yards and one touchdown. He caught his first career touchdown, a 15-yard reception, and brought in six receptions for 93 yards against New Mexico.
Barham heard his name called by the Cowboys in the third round, joining his former high school and college teammate, Derrick Moore. Barham was chosen with the 92nd overall pick. He will join three former Wolverines with Dallas -- edge Rashan Gary, offensive guard Trevor Keegan and tight end Luke Schoonmaker.
Barham was a two-year letterman and starter for the Wolverines. A two-time Butkus Award candidate (2024-25), he started 24 of his 25 games in the maize and blue, including 15 at linebacker and nine at edge. Barham accumulated 98 stops, with 13.5 tackles for loss, five sacks and five pass breakups. He started 11 games and played in all 12 contests as a senior, totaling 32 stops, 10 TFLs, 4.0 sacks and three PBUs.
The 2026 NFL Draft concludes on Saturday (April 25) with rounds four through seven starting at noon on ABC, ESPN and NFL Network.
