ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan Football program distributed its 2025 season awards in conjunction with the U-M Club of Greater Detroit.
Edge rusher and team captain Derrick Moore was named the recipient of the Bo Schembechler Most Valuable Player award. Moore earned the distinction following a season in which he led the U-M defense in sacks (10.0) and tackles for loss (10.5), setting career highs in both categories. He led the Big Ten in sacks during league play and became the first Wolverine with multiple sacks in three consecutive games (vs. Washington, at Michigan State, vs. Purdue) since LaMarr Woodley in 2006.
Moore's outstanding senior campaign yielded first-team All-Big Ten honors with 30 tackles, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and three pass breakups. He was a driving force behind U-M's 23rd-ranked defense, which ranked No. 29 against the run. Moore finished his career eighth all-time in sacks with 21.0.
Among the awards distributed were the six team honors presented by the U-M Club of Greater Detroit: the Humphries-Miller Scholarship Award (given to the team's top student-athlete), the Robert P. Ufer Bequest (given to the top offensive lineman), the Roger Zatkoff Award (given to the top linebacker), the Woodley-Graham Award (given to the top defensive lineman), and the Dierdorf-Hutchinson Award (given to the top offensive lineman).
