
Five Wolverines Set to Compete in Winter Cup

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Five former and current members of the University of Michigan men's gymnastics team will compete at the USA Gymnastics Winter Cup on Saturday (Feb. 21) at 7 p.m. inside the Kentucky International Convention Center in Louisville, Ky.
Notes
• Current Wolverines Carson Eshleman,Charlie Larson, Aaronson Mansberger and Fred Richard, as well as 2024 graduate and assistant coach Crew Bold, all qualified for the competition.
• Richard will compete in the all-around competition. Eshleman will compete on floor exercise, still rings, parallel bars and high bar. Larson will compete on floor and vault. Mansberger will compete on pommel horse, while Bold will take to the floor, parallel bars and high bar.
• At last year's Winter Cup, Richard took home three medals after finishing second in the all-around (159.00), and third on parallel bars (27.650) and high bar (26.650). Bold took home the high bar title with a final score of 26.900.
• The 2026 Winter Cup is a qualifying event for the 2026 Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships. The Winter Cup will also culminate in the selection of the Men's Senior National Team, which will be announced following the competition.
• The Maize and Blue will return to team competition on Saturday, March 7, hosting Big Ten foe Penn State at 1 p.m. inside Cliff Keen Arena.
