• U-M's 24-13 loss drops it even to 1-1 this season with one game remaining in the nonconference schedule.
• The loss ends U-M's 13-game night game winning streak (night games defined as: post-5 p.m. local kick time) dating back to Week 2 of the 2022 season (vs. Hawaii). U-M is now 18-2 across its last 20 night games.
• Linebacker Jimmy Rolder made his first career start on defense, while guard Nathan Efobi and fellow offensive lineman Blake Frazier made their first career starts on offense as U-M began in a set with seven offensive linemen. Defensive back Jaden Mangham made his first start as a Wolverine after earning starting opportunities at his previous institution, Michigan State.
• On the first play from scrimmage in the second half, Justice Haynes scored a 75-yard touchdown run. It marked U-M's longest play of the season and Haynes' third run of 50-plus yards (56, 59, 75), two of which went for scores.
• Haynes' 75-yard rush was the longest U-M offensive play since Donovan Edwards gained 85 yards on a rushing touchdown against Ohio State in 2022.
• Haynes has more rushing yards (284) through the first two starts of his U-M career than any back since at least 2000. Carlos Brown ran for 245 combined yards at Illinois (113 yards, Oct. 20, 2007) and against Minnesota (132 yards, Oct. 27, 2007). Haynes also has four touchdowns through two games.
• Defensive back TJ Metcalf picked off his first pass as a Wolverine, registering an interception at the 0:28 mark of the first quarter.
• Five different Wolverines intercepted or broke up a pass: Metcalf, Zeke Berry, Jyaire Hill, Derrick Moore and Jimmy Rolder.
• After six plays of 20-plus yards in game one, the Wolverines added another four in tonight's game: Haynes' 75-yard touchdown run, a 25-yard reception for Channing Goodwin, and 38- and 44-yard catches for Donaven McCulley.
