
Wolverines Represented on Podium at U19 World Rowing Championships

• 2025 U19 World Rowing Championships
TRAKAI, Lithuania -- The University of Michigan rowing program will have three incoming first-year rowers representing Team Canada at the Under 19 World Rowing Championships on Lake Galve in Trakai, Lithuania, from Wednesday through Sunday, Aug. 6-10.
Representing the Wolverines will be Lucy Hallett --Â competing in the women's single sculls --, Â Novella Rusman --Â who will compete as the stern rower in Canada's women's pair boat --, and Jade Postma -- rowing in the stroke seat in quadruple sculls.

• JW1x (women's single sculls): During B finals on the last day of competition at U19s (Aug. 10), Lucy Hallett placed sixth in B finals with a time of 8:38.76.
• JW2 (women's pair): Novella Rusman, as part of the Canada pair, finished third and earned bronze following the boat's 8:10.72 performance at A finals on Sunday (Aug. 10).
Saturday, Aug. 9
• JW1x (women's single sculls): Lucy Hallett finished in sixth place (8:11.28) out of lane six during Saturday's first semifinal race (Aug. 9) and qualified for Sunday's B finals. Â
• JW2 (women's pair): Canada's pair, stroked by Novella Rusman, qualified for A finals after finishing second in its semifinal race on Saturday (Aug. 9) with a time of 7:33.03.
Friday, Aug. 8
• W1x (women's single sculls): With a third place (8:31.80) finish in quarterfinals (Aug. 8) out of lane four, Lucy Hallett qualified for Saturday's semifinals with an opportunity to compete in A Finals on Sunday's last day of competition.
Thursday, Aug. 7
• JW1x (women's single sculls): Lucy Hallett finished second out of lane four in heat four of single sculls with a time of 8:13.37 and qualified for Friday's quarterfinals (Aug. 6).
• JW2 (women's pair): Novella Rusman, rowing on the stern end of the Canada women's pair, took second place (7:48.62) from lane four in the second heat of Thursday's (Aug. 7) early competition and will next compete in Saturday's semifinals.
• JW4x (women's quadruple sculls): Jade Postma, from the stroke seat of the Canadian quad, finished in fourth place (7:11.36) from lane four of the third heat of the event (Aug. 7).
