
Michigan to Face Vanderbilt at 2026 Coretta Scott King Classic

NEWARK, N.J. -- The University of Michigan women's basketball team will participate in the 2026 Coretta Scott King Classic, facing Vanderbilt on Jan. 19 at the Prudential Center. The game is part of a doubleheader that will air on Fox, with Michigan and Vanderbilt playing at 2:30 p.m., following a noon contest between TCU and Ohio State.
The Coretta Scott King Classic is not just a basketball event -- it is a movement that celebrates leadership, equality, education and empowerment through sport. The day will include community activations, youth engagement programming and more, reflecting the enduring legacy of Mrs. King.

Michigan is coming off its seventh straight NCAA Tournament berth in 2024-25, winning 23 games and reaching the second round of the NCAA Tournament. J. Ira and Nicki Harris Family Head women's basketball coach Kim Barnes Arico became the all-time winningest coach in Michigan basketball history and relied on a freshman-heavy lineup to finish fifth in the Big Ten with 11 victories. U-M welcomes back a trio of starters in Olivia Olson (16.3 ppg, 5.3 rpg), Syla Swords (16.0 ppg, 6.2 rpg) and Mila Holloway (9.8 ppg, 4.4 apg), along with six other Wolverines who saw the floor last season.
