
Three Wolverines Compete on U23 World Championship Finals Day

POZNAN, Poland -- The University of Michigan rowing program is represented by three student-athletes at the 2025 World Rowing Under-23 Championships taking place at the Malta Regatta Course.
Rising senior Jana Peachey is competing for Canada in the 8+ for a second straight year. Also competing in the 8+ is Sara Houben, representing the Netherlands.
In the women's single sculls, the Wolverines are represented by rising first-year student-athlete Danelia Price-Hughes, rowing for South Africa, who is part of Michigan Rowing's 2025 signing class.

• BW8+ (women's eight): Peachey, in the fifth seat, helped Team Canada place third in the 8+ A Finals (6:19.37).
• BW8+ (women's eight): Houben rowed in the third seat of the first-place finishing (6:26.87) Team Netherlands 8+ boat out of lane two in the B Finals.
• BW1x (women's single sculls): Price-Hughes, representing South Africa, placed second out of lane four in the B Finals with a time of 8:16.17 to close out the U23 World Championships.
Thursday, July 24
• BW8+ (women's eight): Peachey rowed in the fifth seat for Team Canada out of lane one, where it placed second in its heat (6:11.49) and qualified for Sunday's A Finals.
• BW8+ (women's eight): Houben rowed in the third seat for Team Netherlands out of lane five, which finished third in its heat (6:14.55) and qualified for Sunday's B Finals.
• BW1x (women's single sculls): Price-Hughes, representing Team South Africa, finished third in the first singles heat out of lane four with a time of 7:51.87 and qualified for Sunday's B Finals.
