
Wolverine Trio Earns CSC Academic All-District

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Julia Fliegner, Piper Charney and Reese Miller of the University of Michigan women's tennis team each earned Academic All-District honors by College Sports Communicators (CSC) on Tuesday afternoon (May 13). It is the second straight selection for Fliegner, with Charney and Miller recognized for the first time.
Fliegner recently graduated with a degree in business administration from the Ross School of Business and will attend law school at Michigan in the fall. She is a two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree and Big Ten Distinguished Scholar. On the court, she is up to 112 career singles wins to rank sixth all-time at Michigan. Fliegner has been ranked as high as No. 2 in singles this season, coming in at No. 6 right now. She reached the semifinals of the NCAA Singles Championship in the fall, earning All-America honors for the first time in her career.
Charney, a business administration major, earned All-Big Ten first-team honors this season after moving up from No. 6 to No. 2 in the singles lineup. She is 35-9 overall in singles this season, marking her second straight 30-win season to give her 72 wins over her first two seasons at Michigan. She is 21-3 in dual matches, going 19-3 at No. 2 and 2-0 at No. 2. Charney participated in the 2024 NCAA Singles Championship, making the second round.
Miller is also a business administration major at Ross. A mainstay in the lineup this season, Miller is 19-6 in dual matches and 26-9 overall in singles play. On the doubles court, she is also 26-9 overall. She was named the Big Ten Player of the Week twice this season.
