
Ray Named CSC Academic All-American

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Tyler Ray of the University of Michigan men's swimming and diving team received third-team Academic All-America honors from College Sports Communicators (CSC) on Wednesday (April 23).
Ray has maintained a 3.55 grade point average while pursuing a business administration degree from U-M's Ross School of Business. He has earned Academic All-Big Ten recognition on two occasions and was also named an All-American in the pool in back-to-back seasons in 2023-24 and 2024-25.
Ray shined in his junior year with the Maize and Blue, capturing the 100-yard butterfly Big Ten title and setting a new program record in the event with a time of 44.00. The Pinckney, Mich., native garnered All-America first team honors for his efforts in the 100-yard butterfly at the NCAA Championships, taking seventh overall.
Academic All-America teams are selected by College Sports Communicators and recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in academics and athletics. Student-athletes who meet the criteria for nomination must be in at least their second year at their institution with a cumulative GPA of 3.50 and have competed in at least five meets.
