FEDERAL WAY, Wash. -- The No. 10-ranked University of Michigan men's swimming and diving team finished its 2024-25 season Saturday (March 29) with an 11th-place finish at the NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships. No. 1-ranked Texas captured the national title with 490 points.
Colin Geer and Gal Groumi advanced to finals in the 200-yard butterfly, with Groumi reaching the consolation final while Geer punched his ticket to the championship heat.
In the 200 fly final, Groumi finished 11th overall with a mark of 1:40.37. Geer took eighth in the 'A' final with a mark of 1:39.83 to earn first-team All-America honors.
The Wolverines concluded the session with the 400-yard freestyle relay. The team of Geer, Groumi, Bence Szabados and Jack Wilkening finished 18th overall with a time of 2:49.09.
Michigan completed its second season under head coach Matt Bowe 4-1 overall and 2-1 in the Big Ten, defeating Ohio State and Wisconsin. U-M was the runner-up at the Big Ten Championships and had seven swimmers earn All-Big Ten honors -- with four on the first team and three on the second team.
