
Edwards Signs with New Jersey Devils

NEWARK, N.J. -- The New Jersey Devils announced on Tuesday, March 25, the signing of University of Michigan ice hockey senior defenseman Ethan Edwards to a two-year, entry-level contract, beginning with the 2025-26 season. Additionally, Edwards signed an American Hockey League standard player contract for the remainder of the 2024-25 season and will report to the Utica Comets.
A fourth-round selection of the Devils in the 2020 NHL Draft, Edwards played in all 36 games this season and was the team's leading-scoring defenseman with 21 points. A second-team All-Big Ten selection, he logged nearly 27 minutes per game this past season and finished second on the team in blocked shots with 49 as an alternate captain.
In his four-year career, Edwards played in 130 games and scored 15 goals and 41 assists, while blocking 164 shots. He was part of two Big Ten Tournament championship teams and three Frozen Fours.
Edwards joins former teammates Luke Hughes and Seamus Casey with the Devils organization.
