
Mladenovic Highlights Strong Meet vs. Oakland, Pitt as Michigan Moves to 6-0

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 10-ranked University of Michigan men's swimming and diving program picked up two more wins on Friday afternoon (Nov. 7), winning 244-111 over Oakland, and 229.5-129.5 over Pittsburgh at Canham Natatorium. The victories move the Maize and Blue to 3-0 at home.
The Wolverines started strong with a win in the 200-yard medley relay as Jack Wilkening, Luka Mladenovic, Ole Eidam and Tyler Ray placed first with a time of 1:26.24. To close out the meet and a sweep of the relay events, Eidam, Antoine Sauve, Logan Zucker and Ray put up a first-place time of 2:56.83 in the 400-yard freestyle relay.
Coming off being named Big Ten Freshman of the week on Oct. 29, Mladenovic continued his strong season with three individual wins in the double-dual meet. He placed first in the 200- and 100-yard breaststrokes with times of 1:57.93 and 53.92 seconds, respectively, before closing out the individual portion of the meet with a victory in the 200-yard individual medley.
The Maize and Blue added a sweep in the distance events, as Joshua Brown placed first in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 9:14.19, and Sauve won the 500 free with a time of 4:27.58.
Later, Sauve picked up his second individual win of the meet, placing first in the 200 free after putting up a time of 1:36.47.
Ray won two individual events of his own, grabbing victories in the 200- (1:44.77) and 1,000-yard (46.77) butterfly.
Finally, Michigan swept the backstroke events, as Wilkening won the 100 with a time of 48.29, and Eitan Ben-Shitrit picked up a victory in the 200 with a 1:45.77.
Up next, Michigan will travel to Knoxville, Tenn., for the CSCAA Dual Meet Challenge from Thursday through Sunday, Nov. 20-23.
