
Twelve Wolverines Named USTFCCCA All-Academic Athletes; Michigan Named All-Academic Team

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's track and field team has earned USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honors, while 12 Wolverines -- Maria Deaviz, Sidney Green, Samantha Hastie, Cassie Kearney, Aasia Laurencin, Mia Manson, Clare McNamara, Savannah Sutherland, Elizabeth Tapper, Sam Tran, Cate Visscher and Emma Yungeberg -- were named All-Academic Athletes as announced by the organization on Tuesday (July 16).
The team honor is the 13th straight for the Wolverines. Individually, Manson and Tran earned their fourth straight honor, while Laurencin and Sutherland earned their third in a row .
To be named an All-Academic Team, the cumulative team grade-point average for the 2023-24 academic year must be higher than 3.0. The Maize and Blue earned a 3.52 GPA and was one of 239 teams to earn the honor.
To be named an All-Academic Athlete, an athlete must have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and complete at least two semesters at the nominating institution. Athletes must also have finished in the top 96 of any championship individual event or in the top 48 of any championship relay event during the indoor season, or must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships or finished in the top 48 of the qualifying region for multi-events.
