FORT WORTH, Texas -- Six past and present members of the University of Michigan men's gymnastics team -- Javier Alfonso, Landen Blixt, Cameron Bock, Crew Bold, Paul Juda and Fred Richard -- will participate in the 2024 USA Gymnastics Championships, Thursday through Saturday (May 30-June 1) at Dickies Arena.
Competition begins on Thursday (May 30) at 7 p.m. CDT and will be broadcast on Peacock. Day two on Saturday (June 1) begins with competition at 7 p.m. CDT and will be broadcast on CNBC as well as streamed live on Peacock.
The U-M group will all be in the same event rotation, beginning on pommel horse. Bock, Juda and Richard will compete in the all-around, while Alfonso (floor exercise, still rings, parallel bars) and Bold (floor, parallel bar, high bar) will compete on three events each.
In an Olympic year, the USA Championships serve as the precursor to the U.S. Olympic Trials as well as the Olympic Games. The top-five all-arounders, top-five in the USA Gymnastics scoring system, and 10 discretionary picks advance to USA Gymnastics Olympic Trials held in late June.
