
Ben-Shitrit, Liberman, Ray, Zucker Named to CSC Academic All-District Team

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Eitan Ben-Shitrit, Kameron Liberman, Tyler Ray and Logan Zucker of the University of Michigan men's swimming and diving team were named to the College Sports Communicators 2023-34 Academic All-District Team, the organization announced on Tuesday (April 2). To receive the award, student-athletes must be a sophomore academically and maintain at least a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average.
Ben-Shitrit is a sophomore who is enrolled in the College of Literature, Science and Arts and was named to the Academic All-Big Ten team for the first time in his Michigan tenure. He was an integral part of U-M's Big Ten and NCAA scoring rosters, primarily competing in backstroke, freestyle and individual medley events. Ben-Shitrit posted several personal-best marks during the 2023-24 campaign, including a new 200-yard freestyle mark at the NCAA Championships at 1:32.85.
Liberman is a junior who is pursuing a degree in neuroscience and a two-time Academic All-Big Ten selection. Liberman ranked second on the team in the platform dive with a season-best mark of 300.75 set at the Georgia Invitational.
Ray is a sophomore who is pursuing a degree in business administration and earned Academic All-Big Ten recognition for the first time this winter. Ray saw a huge leap from his freshman season to his sophomore year, becoming a big piece of Michigan's postseason roster. Ray finished third and fourth in the 100- and 200-yard butterfly events, respectively, at the Big Ten Championships and reached the consolation final in the 200 fly at the NCAA Championships, finishing 14th.
Zucker is a sophomore who is pursuing a degree in business administration and landed on the Academic All-Big Ten team for the first time this winter. Zucker excelled in the distance freestyle events in 2023-24, placing eighth in the 500-yard freestyle at the Big Ten Championships and anchoring the 800-yard freestyle relay for Michigan at the Big Ten Championships.
Ray advances to the Academic All-America ballot which will be voted on CSC members. Honorees on the first, second and third teams will be announced on April 24.
