STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- The University of Michigan men's tennis team cruised to a 4-0 win over Penn State on Friday (April 12) to improve to a perfect 7-0 in the Big Ten conference. It's the seventh straight win for the Wolverines.
The Wolverines altered their doubles pairs and didn't flinch as they took the early point. Mert Oral and Bjorn Swenson improved to 8-2 as a duo after they captured a 6-2 decision at No. 3 doubles. Patorn Hanchaikul and Will Cooksey paired up again for the first time since Feb. 27 and took a 6-3 at No. 2.
Cooksey kept things rolling, winning 6-3, 6-2 over Ari Cotoulas at No. 4. With the win, Cooksey has matched his career-best win streak of six straight matches and is now 6-0 in the conference this season.
Hanchaikul defeated Nolan Ranger 6-1, 6-4 at No. 3 singles, his third straight victory. Hanchaikul is now 9-2 in dual singles and 3-0 against conference opponents.
