ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 2-ranked University of Michigan men's gymnastics team defeated No. 3 Nebraska 407.700-398.850 on Saturday (Feb. 10) inside Cliff Keen Arena behind a standout performance from graduate student Paul Juda.
Juda set a new career-high in the all-around with a nation-leading 86.20, and won event tiles on floor exercise, pommel horse, vault, parallel bars and high bar. His vault score also leads the country (15.10).
How it Happened
Floor Exercise
Michigan began the meet with a 66.55, led by a 14.350 from Juda, to take first place and a 13.75 from junior David Wolma to place third. The Wolverines trailed the Cornhuskers by 0.75 points after the first rotation.
Pommel Horse
The Wolverines compiled a 63.60 as Juda claimed another first-place finish with a 14.15 on the apparatus. Sophomore Zach Granados took third with a score of 13.10. Through two rotations, Nebraska led by one point, 131.150-130.140
Still Rings
U-M had a strong performance, claiming the top three places, with senior Javier Alfonso taking first with a score of 13.80. Junior Rithik Puri finished in second with a 13.75 and set a new career high while senior Chris Read (13.70) tied for third. With a team tally of 68.45, U-M took the lead from the Cornhuskers and led by 2.35 points heading into vault.
Vault
Juda took the event win on the table with a 15.10 as the Wolverines tallied a season-best 72.65 on the apparatus. Wolma also claimed his second third-place finish and had the top Wolverine score with a 14.80. However, Nebraska countered with a 73.20 to cut U-M's lead to 1.80 points.
Parallel bars
The Wolverines extended their lead with a team total of 68.65, led by an event win from Juda (14.45) and runner-up finish from junior Logan McKeown (13.90). Senior Evgeny Siminiuc tied for third on the event with a 13.75. Heading into the final rotation, U-M led by 5.75 points.
High bar
Juda took top spot, scoring a 14.60. Sophomore Robert Noll finished in second with a career-high score of 13.90. The Wolverines totaled 67.80 on the event to defeat Nebraska 407.700-398.850.

The Wolverines will play host to Springfield College and Arizona State in a tri-meet next Saturday (Feb. 17) at 1 p.m. The competition will be streamed live on B1G+.
