» With an opening team tally of 292, Michigan finds itself in a four-way tie for sixth after the first 18 holes of North Carolina's Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational played at the Finley Golf Club.
» Picking up from their last start, Mara Janess (70, E; career-low) is tied for sixth, while Sydney Sung (71, +1) is tied for 12th after the first 18 holes. The duo posted top-10 finishes in U-M's last event (Mary Fossum) to lead the Wolverines.
» Janess used an eagle and two birdies to lower her career-best single round by one shot (70, E). Last week, she tied her former career low with a 71 (-1) at the Mary Fossum. She leads the field in par-5 scoring at minus-three.
» With her opening-round 71, Sung has posted three of her last four rounds at 74 or below.
