The matches were played at Travis Pointe Country Club due to a power outage at the Varsity Tennis Center.
Much like Friday (Jan. 12), U-M grabbed a pair of wins over ranked singles players. Kari Miller, ranked No. 10, knocked off No. 30 Dasha Vidmanova in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4. No. 47-ranked Lily Jones came through with a back-and-forth 1-6, 6-0, 1-0 (8) victory over No. 108 Mai Nirundorn.
The freshman duo of Piper Charney and Reese Miller each picked up their second wins of the weekend in singles action. Charney buckled down for a 6-2, 3-6, 1-0 (0) win over Aysegul Mert, rebounding from the second-set loss to shut out Mert in the 10-point tiebreaker. Reese Miller joined her sister it the straight-set club, getting a 7-5, 7-5 victory over Guillermina Grant.
With only four courts available, there was no doubles action.
The Michigan Invitational is slated to end Sunday (Jan. 14), with doubles starting at 10 a.m. and singles to follow. Fans are encouraged to keep up with Michigan Tennis on X for any updates concerning power at the Varsity Tennis Center.
