
Wolverines Take Home Pair of Top-Three Finishes at NCA Nationals

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- The University of Michigan spirit team continued its string of success at the NCA & NDA Collegiate Cheer & Dance Championship with a second- and third-place finish on Friday (April 7) in Daytona Beach, Fla. The Wolverines took second in the game day division and third in the intermediate Coed IA division.
In the Intermediate Large Coed division, Michigan received a finals score of 95.8958, finishing behind Missouri (96.4028) and East Carolina (96.1852). U-M was able to improve on a 94.2500 prelim score, moving from fifth to third place.
The Game Day Division IA finals saw the Wolverines take second with a score of 95.9417 that included a .75 deduction. The Wolverine effort earned the runner-up finish, coming in just behind the champion school Utah Valley (96.025). Bryant came in third with a 95.25 to round out the top three. The U-M cheer team was joined by Michigan Marching Band members in the Game Day competition.
The results add to U-M's run of success, as the Wolverines have earned 10 NCA championships since 2013. Michigan has won seven Coed Division IA titles, with four straight in 2013-16, one in 2019 and back-to-back titles in 2021 and 2022. Game Day wins have come in 2019, 2021 and 2022.
