MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- The University of Michigan men's swimming and diving team is 23rd place with 24 points after day three of the NCAA Championships on Friday night (March 24) at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center.
In the 400-yard medley relay, the team of Wyatt Davis, Brendan Fitzpatrick, Gal Groumi and Bence Szabados swam their way to a 16th-place finish with a time of 3:05.17.
Groumi was the top finisher for the Wolverines on Friday with a 12th-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly, touching the wall in 44.98 seconds.
In the 400-yard individual medley 'B' final, Jared Daigle added two seconds to his preliminary time to finish 16th overall in 3:42.40.
In the prelims, Davis went under 46 seconds to finish tied for 23rd in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 45.87. In the 400-yard IM Eitan Ben-Shitrit swam a 3:45.24 to finish 28th, while Daigle advanced to the 'B' final.
On the diving side, Cameron Gammage finished 19th with a score of 360.45 on the three-meter springboard.
