ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's swimming and diving team collected four personal-best times and one NCAA "B" cut time on the first day of the First Chance Meet on Saturday (Feb. 11) across two sessions inside Canham Natatorium.Â
Three Wolverines competed in the day's events, with the group totaling four personal bests.
Malia Amuan, Abigail Ketslakh and Ella Jo Piersma swept the 50-yard freestyle with ease. Amuan swam 22.79 earning a new season- and personal-best time, while Ketslakh swam a season-best 22.91 and Piersma swam 22.95 for a season- and personal-best time.Â
In the night portion of the meet, Piersma kicked things off with a new season and personal best in the 100-yard butterfly, earning an NCAA "B" cut with a time of 53.29.
Amuan finished the evening off for the Wolverines with a new season-and personal-best time in the 100-yard backstroke, swimming a 55.03 and finishing in first place.
The First Chance Meet will conclude Sunday (Feb. 12) at Canham Natatorium with two sessions. The first is set to begin at 10 a.m. with the second session starting at 5:30 p.m.
