
Three Wolverines Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Brooke Humphrey, Maddi Cuchran and Serena Nyambio of the University of Michigan volleyball team were named to the 2023-24 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, the organization announced Tuesday afternoon (Dec. 12). To receive the honor, student-athletes must have completed at least one year of classes and have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average.
Humphrey is a senior earning her degree in communications and media. She is a three-time academic All-Big Ten selection and was U-M's Sportsmanship Award honoree this season. Humphrey started 17 matches this season and played in every set, leading the team in digs (230) and tallying 15 aces.
Cuchran is a junior pursuing a degree in applied exercise science. She is a two-time Academic All-Big Ten selection and played in all 29 matches this season. Cuchran was third on the team in digs with 214 and tallied double-digit aces (10) for the first time in her career.
Nyambio is a sophomore enrolled in the College of Literature, Science and the Arts. She started 27 matches this season and led the team in blocks with 88, while recording 14 solo blocks and 74 assists. She also tallied 154 kills.
Humphrey advances to the Academic All-America ballot, which will be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced Jan. 23.
