
Fantilli Selected to Hockey Canada World Junior Camp

CALGARY, Alberta -- Freshman Adam Fantilli of the University of Michigan ice hockey team has been named to Canada's National Junior Team Selection Camp, it was announced by Hockey Canada on Monday. (Dec. 5).
The announcement comes just hours after five Wolverines were selected to the USA Hockey preliminary roster.
Fantilli is one of 29 players selected for the four-day camp being held Dec. 9-12 in Moncton, New Brunswick. The final roster is expected to be announced following camp on Dec. 12.
The selection will result in Fantilli missing the Michigan/Michigan State series this weekend (Dec. 9-10).
Fantilli follows in the footsteps of Kent Johnson, who won gold as alternate captain of the Canadian team in August. Johnson, along with Owen Power, were on the original 2022 team in January.
In total, Michigan players have earned 12 medals with Hockey Canada at the World Juniors since 1991.
The 2023 World Junior Ice Hockey Championship will be held Dec. 26-Jan. 5 in Moncton, New Brunswick and Halifax, Nova Scotia.
