
Michigan Dance Squad Earns Top-10 Finishes at UDA Dance Team Nationals

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The University of Michigan dance team earned a trio of top-10 finishes, highlighted by sixth-place in the Game Day category, at the United Dance Association's Dance Team National Championship held at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex from Friday through Sunday (Jan. 14-17).
Michigan was one of only four teams to earn berths in the Game Day, Jazz and Hip-Hop categories alongside Ohio State, Tennessee and Memphis.
On Friday (Jan. 14), U-M scored a 91.950 to qualify fourth in the Game Day semifinals. In finals, U-M received a score of 92.2167 to place sixth.
On Saturday (Jan. 15), the Wolverines qualified for finals in ninth-place in each category. Jazz prelims came first, with U-M notching a score of 89.4783. Hip-Hop prelims saw a score of 87.7391. A day later on Sunday (Jan. 16), U-M took ninth on each finals routine, scoring an 88.6957 on the Hip-Hop routine and a 90.8551 on its Jazz routine.

The Wolverines entered the weekend after an intense stretch of training, while adjusting to a busy schedule that included traveling for the U-M football team's Big Ten Championship game and its College Football Playoff appearance at the Orange Bowl.
