RAČICE, Czech Republic -- As the 2021 Under-23 World Rowing Championships begin in the Czech Republic this week (July 7-11), two members of the University of Michigan rowing team will travel to compete on the international stage. Rising junior Elena Collier-Hezel will row with Team U.S.A. as part of the four (BW4+) and rising sophomore Abigail Dent will row with Team Canada in the double sculls (BW2x).
Events will be held at the National Olympic Water Sports Center in Racice, Czech Republic, which is six hours ahead of U.S. Eastern Daylight Time. Racing begins on Wednesday (July 7). The competing Wolverines will begin on Thursday (July 8).
The 2021 WRU23 Championships Organizing Committee will provide a live streaming service for the duration of the event. Streaming information will be available at the World Rowing site.
The event is being held in the Racice for the first time since 2009, and this event is also a test event for the 2022 World Rowing Championships.
