2020-21 Michigan Seniors Set to Return in 2021-22
Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the NCAA Division I Council decided that fall and winter sport student-athletes who competed during the 2020-21 school year will receive both an additional season of competition and an additional year in which to complete it. The resulting decisions for affected student-athletes are highly individualistic, and the University of Michigan administration and coaches are working with and supporting our students as they navigate their life choices.
Fall Sports: Men's cross country, women's cross country, field hockey, football, men's soccer, women's soccer, volleyball.
Winter Sports: Men's basketball, women's basketball, men's gymnastics, women's gymnastics, ice hockey, men's swimming and diving, women's swimming and diving, men's indoor track and field, women's indoor track and field, wrestling.
In addition, last spring the NCAA did the same thing for student-athletes in spring sports affected by COVID-19, giving affected student-athletes an additional season of competition and an additional year in which to complete it. Seniors in 2020-21 who will be taking advantage of that extra year are also included below.
Spring Sports: Baseball, men's golf, women's golf, men's lacrosse, women's lacrosse, softball, men's tennis, women's tennis, men's outdoor track and field, women's outdoor track and field, rowing, water polo.
