» Michigan wrapped the night with another relay making an NCAA 'A' cut, as Bence Szabados, Gal Groumi, Patrick Callan and Cam Peel finished the 400-yard freestyle relay in 2:50.44.
» Groumi turned in his top 200-yard butterfly time of the season, missing an NCAA 'A' cut by just .36 seconds, winning the event in 1:40.90.

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- The No. 4-ranked University of Michigan men's swimming and diving team had 11 individuals meet NCAA qualifiers and the 400-yard freestyle relay earned an 'A' cut on the final day of the Minnesota Invitational on Saturday (Dec. 4) at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center.

It was the relay team putting the exclamation point on the night once again for the Wolverines, as sophomore Bence Szabados, freshman Gal Groumi, senior Patrick Callan and junior Cam Peel took fourth place in the the 400-yard freestyle relay in 2:50.44 to hit the NCAA 'A' cut time.

Groumi had the top time in the 200-yard butterfly on the night, narrowly missing an NCAA 'A' cut with a time of 1:40.90. The time was the best of Groumi's Michigan career and clocked as the fourth fastest in the nation this season.

Fifth-year Ross Todd scored a 435.70 in the platform dive, nearly 95 full points ahead of second place and good for an NCAA Zone Diving qualifying score.

Sophomore Jake Mitchell started the night with a sixth-place finish in the 1,650-yard freestyle, touching the wall in 14:56.99 to earn an NCAA 'B' cut.

Michigan had two swimmers in the 200-yard backstroke A final, as sophomore Wyatt Davis (1:42.21) and senior Jared Daigle (1:42.64) finished third and sixth, respectively, and earned NCAA 'B' qualifiers. Senior Bora Unalmis (1:45.19) competed in the B final and also hit the NCAA 'B' cut.

Three more Wolverines earned 'B' cuts in the 100-yard freestyle, as Szabados (42.98) and Peel (43.08) met the mark in the A final, while Patrick Callan (43.61) reached it in the B final.

Senior captain AJ Bornstein (1:56.91) earned an NCAA 'B' time in the 200-yard breaststroke, touching the wall in 1:56.91 in the B final for a 10th-place finish.

Michigan will return to the friendly confines of Canham Natatorium in 2022 when the Wolverines welcome Big Ten foe Indiana to Canham Natatorium for Senior Day Saturday, Jan. 8.
