Ashley Kim (March 11)
Big Ten Golfer of the Week -- With a final-round 68 (-2), Ashley Kim led Michigan for the third straight event and posted a third consecutive top-10 finish after tying for third with a 213 (+3) total at the Gators Invitational. After opening with a 70 (E), she followed with a 75 to sit among the top 10 after 36 holes. Using four final-round birdies, Kim carded her sixth round of par or better over her last nine rounds to vault herself to the third spot -- just a single shot away from winning her second straight event. Kim was one of three Wolverines to finish among the top 10 and helped the Wolverines post their second top-three team finish with a season-low 869 team total -- which was just a shot out of the runner-up spot. The Big Ten accolade is Kim's second in as many weeks. » Big Ten Release
Ashley Kim (March 4)
Big Ten Golfer of the Week -- Junior Ashley Kim earned her first collegiate win, sharing medalist honors with Oklahoma State's Maja Stark with a 215 (-1) tally at the Hurricane Invitational at the Biltmore Golf Course in Coral Gables, Florida. Kim opened with a 74 but rallied with her sixth sub-par tally of the season as she tied a season low with a 69 (-3) in the second round. She birdied five of her first nine holes in the final round and built as much as a four-shot lead heading to the back side. With the winds picking up, she hung on to shoot an even-par 72 and share the title. She is the 20th Wolverine golfer to win an event, giving the program its 31st individual title, and the first to take top honors at a team event in nearly three years. » Big Ten Release
