
Bock Captures Second Medal at 2019 Pan-Am Games

LIMA, Peru -- Rising junior Cameron Bock of the University of Michigan men's gymnastics team earned a bronze medal on Wednesday (July 31) in the parallel bars event final as a member of Team USA at the 2019 Pan American games. The bronze brought his medal count at the international event to two.
Bock and Team USA earned a silver medal Sunday (July 28) in team competition, during which he qualified for individual finals on floor with a score of 13.700 and bars after he led the U.S. contingent with a 14.400.
In the four-up, three-count team competition format, the United States garnered a 249.400 total for the silver medal and finished just 1.05 points behind Brazil (250.450), which won the gold medal. Canada was third at 246.725. The Americans had the top event scores on floor exercise and pommel horse, and were second on vault and bars.
In the floor exercise final on Tuesday (July 30), Bock placed eighth with a score of 13.166.
Bock competed in the Pan Am Championships last year in Lima and helped lead the U.S. to a gold medal after he captured four individual medals -- silver on pommel horse (13.567), and bronze medals in the all-around (81.9990), floor (14.033) and parallel bars (14.233).
