U-M's Moore Wins Big Ten Floor Exercise Title; Bock Gymnast of Championships

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Sophomore Jacob Moore of the University of Michigan men's gymnastics team captured the floor exercise title at the 2019 Big Ten Individual Championships on Saturday (April 6), while classmate Cameron Bock was named Big Ten Gymnast of the Championships at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
Moore secured the win on floor with a 14.650, while Bock earned his honor after winning the all-around championship on Friday (April 5). Teammates senior Emyre Cole and freshman Kevin Penev tied for second on floor with a 14.425. The win for Moore is the first for a Wolverine since Stacey Ervin in 2013, and is the 13th in program history.
Other top-five finishes came from junior Mack Lasker on pommel horse with a 14.00 that was good for fifth, while Cole also took second on vault with a 14.700.
Bock, Moore, and Cole all earned first team All-Big Ten honors by virtue of their top-six all-around finishes on Friday, while Penev earned a spot on the second team with his second-place finish on floor exercise. Junior Mitchell Brown was the teams Big Ten Sportsmanship award recipient.

With the conference championships concluded, Michigan will set its sights on the NCAA Championships, Friday and Saturday, April 19-20, at State Farm Center in Champaign, Illinois.
