Ashley Kim (Feb. 20)
Big Ten Co-Golfer of the Week -- After her career-best performance at the Moon Golf Invitational (Feb. 18-19), sophomore Ashley Kim shared the Big Ten's Golfer of the Week honor with Maryland's Virunpat Olankitkunchai -- with whom she tied with at Louisville's spring tournament. Posting three straight sub-par rounds of 71 (-1), 71 (-1) and a season-low 69 (-3), Kim posted a career-best 211 (-5) 54-hole total, lowering her career-best mark by seven shots. With that tally on the board, she posted her first career top-five finish, tying for fifth place. Kim's finish was the best for a Wolverine in more than a season and a half.
Elodie Van Dievoet, Ashley Kim and Ashley Lau (Aug. 29)
Big Ten Preseason Honors List -- Senior Elodie Van Dievoet, sophomore Ashley Kim and incoming freshman Ashley Lau represent Michigan on the Big Ten's Preseason Honors List. For a second straight year Van Dievoet led U-M in scoring with a 75.13 per round average. After a breakout sophomore season, last year she posted three top-20 finishes and led the Wolverines in two events -- including the Big Ten Championships (T19th). In her first season with the Wolverines Kim showed she belonged. She started all nine events and by just a single shot, she was second on the Wolverines with a 75.17 per round average. She led U-M in four events, and highlighted her season posting a U-M season-best and a career-best 66 (-6) -- tying the second-lowest round in program history. Hailing from Malaysia, Lau prepped at Hills International -- the same school current men's golfer Chalie Pilon attended.
