ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan wrestling program announced its 2018-19 schedule Wednesday (Aug. 22), featuring a challenging slate of 14 dual meets and a pair of regular-season tournaments. The Wolverines will wrestle six teams that finished in the top 15 at the NCAA Championships a season ago, including the top two in Penn State and Ohio State.
U-M will kick off its dual-meet schedule against in-state rival Central Michigan on Sunday, Nov. 11, in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, and open its home slate the following weekend, hosting Lehigh on Friday, Nov. 16. Oregon State (Jan. 3, 2019), Arizona State (Jan. 5) and Clarion (Feb. 24) round out the Wolverines' non-conference schedule.
The Wolverines will welcome Indiana for their Big Ten opener on Sunday, Dec. 9, and will host second-semester conference duals against Illinois (Jan. 13), Purdue (Jan. 20) and Northwestern (Feb. 10). All four of U-M's Big Ten road duals -- at Ohio State, Penn State, Rutgers and Maryland -- have yet-to-be finalized dates and times due to Big Ten Network scheduling. Specifics will be announced at a later date.
Minnesota will host the 2019 Big Ten Championships, March 9-10, at Williams Arena in Minneapolis, Minnesota, while the NCAA Championships is slated for March 21-23 at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
