
Wolverines to Face Hawaii in the NCAA Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- After winning the Big Ten Tournament title, the No. 23-ranked University of Michigan women's tennis team earned its 17th consecutive NCAA Tournament bid as announced by the NCAA on Tuesday (May 1). U-M will face Hawaii in the first round on May 11 in Palo Alto, California.
In addition to Hawaii (12-6), host Stanford (18-3) and St. John's (17-5) join U-M at the four-team regional. Stanford is the No. 15 seed for the tournament. Michigan will face off against Hawaii on Friday, May 11 at 11 a.m. PDT. If the Wolverines advance, they will face the winner of Stanford/St. John's on Saturday, May 12, at 4 p.m. PDT. The winner of the regional will advance to the team finals, being held in Winston Salem, N.C.
Michigan finished the regular season with a 17-9 record and enters the NCAA Tournament having won 13 of its last 14 matches. U-M has a pair of ranked singles players in No. 31 Kate Fahey and No. 101 Chiara Lommer.
